Because our program permits students to de- velop their talents to their maximum poten- tials, it calls for understanding and coopera- tion from students and faculty. It is the usual rather than the unusual to see them working far beyond the line of requirement. This book is only one of the many examples. From our combined efforts emerge well- balanced graduates who are ready to take their rightful places as useful citizens in our democratic society. The administration is justifiably proud of the achievements of the students. This pride is augmented by the knowledge that each year brings new chal- lenges which are met with satisfying success. The Bedmen had the hall and it looked as if they were going all the way for a second touchdown and victory. But staggered hy fumhles, pen- alties, and a powerful Bossier defense, the Tide lost the hall on the Bearkat 36 yard line. The Tide line played a heads-up defensive role as they recovered two Haynesville fumbles which set up two of the three Tide touchdowns. The Tide met a determined Haynesville eleven at the open- ing of the second half. The Haynesville crew fought hard, but the Tide dug in and made their 21-0 lead stand up during a scoreless last half. The victory marked the Tides fourth in five outings and their third con- secutive victory of the season. NIINDEN vs NORTH CADDOmOur fab- ulous Crimson Tidemen continued their win- ning ways by scoring in every quarter to trounce the North Caddo Rebels by a score of 27-O. The Tide didn't start to roll until late in the first quarter when Frye tossed to halfback Leonard Miller for a 19 yard touchdown play. Connell converted for a 7-0 Tide lead. Action picked up again a few minutes before the half when stellar linebacker Sammy Odom picked off a Rebel pass and scampcred 61 yards to paydirt. The Tide continued to hold the Rebels with a fine defense throughout the second half. In the meantime the Tide didn't forget about offense as they picked up two more touchdowns. Frye ran sixteen yards up the middle for the third touchdown and Ashley skirted right end in the waning moments of the game to sack up the Tide victory.
