Early in the fall the football team chose Marcelee Robinson to be Sweetheart of Home- coming. Later the student body elected Hose liabb to reign as Queen of Homecoming. Annette Van Peene and Yvonne Simmons. runners-up, automatically became Princesses. The Senior players selected their maids. The festivities began immediately after school with a parade through the main streets of Minden. The court, riding in beautifully decorated cars. was followed by the members of the class of 1947. At the beginning of the pre-game cere- monies, the class of '-IT was escorted across the field by Senior Pep Squad members. Linda Welch and Margaret Powell. Holding high the staffs of red and white. the Senior mem- bers of the Pep Squad formed an archway through which the Queen and her court passed. As the last strains of the Alma Mater drifted away and the court took their places in the stands. the mighty Crimson Tide rushed onto the field. eager to begin the nights trip to victory. The day of each concert. the student body is given a sneak preview in an assembly program. The speech classes present variety shows and plays several times a year. And each year, the M. H. S. Darling and Miss Minden are chosen on our stage. In March. the K. P.'s delight their audiences with a true M'nstrel Show. These are just a few of the many programs enjoyed by the students of M, H. S. For a team composed mainly of underclassmen this season must be termed as a success. The Minden High team. coached by Cleve Strong. was runner- up for the district title. An over-all season record shows 1-1 wins and 6 losses. The Tide Cagers entered H tournaments-winning one: placing second in two, and placing fourth in one. Winning its own invitational tourney against Springhill will be a pleasant memory for many fans.
