SABIN Superintendent Congratulations to each of you Fifty'Niners upon the event of your graduation in this historic year of Oregon's Centennial. Although vve deeply regret the considerable void created by your leaving, we will long remember the many achievements of your truly superior class, All of us who remain have gained a tremendous lift from your individual effort and your united cooperation. We are confident that we vvill have many opportunities to bask in the reflected glory of your future accomplishments. Memories, golden memories, are recaptured from within the pages of this yearbook, but years later they also serve to haunt you. Your ovvn high schooler vvill find much pleasure in check- ing back on mom and pop, on styles, and, yes, changes of girl friends and boy friends. I commend this book and its memories to you as a source of a pleasant evening of recalling and reminiscing some- time. Q '2- JEROME C LlLLlE Pi incipal THELMA R. FERRISS Dean of Girls Lite might be classified into Two spans of happiness. Those twelve years ot school that tor the graduating seniors are now completed when they have received their diplomas are days ot preparation. For most young students the fundamentals learned during These years become neces- sary as a guide tor The years of challenge That follow. They temper and give direction. We of The faculty hesitate tor a moment To make note that our ettorts may have had some value for our young citizens. To The Class of 1959: What shall I say to you? How can I put into one paragraph all The wishes and words of wisdom that I would give you? I have known you, both as a class and as individuals, better perhaps than any other group of seniors, and my life has been made richer from having known you. There- tore, I would like to wish tor you all The best things in lite. May you have Health, Wealth, and Happiness so That you may enioy the good things of This earth. May you have Strength and Courage, and Wisdom so that you can meet The problems of Lite squarely. And last of all may you have true Humility of Spirit so that you will never cease To grow in greatness of character. In The years to come I shall watch with sincere interest for bits ot news about you and shall share with you both your triumphs and sorrows. D. PAUL MUNO Dean ot Boys HERB K. H Because of lack of time we were unable to acquire a picture ofthe Dads club but we would like to honor them anyway by Telling a little about their activities. The Dads club, each year, is a great help to the student body of Milwaukie. They have a very active program which has included buying tape recorders and a whirl- pool bath for the athletes this last year, awarding scholarships, and sponsoring the annual Father and Son Banquet. Their work is greatly appreciated and of real value to the school. This years officers were Joseph Harvey, President, Lee Royce, Vice-President, Carl Mattson, Secretary, and Red Basler, Treasurer.
