The Junior Class ,under the leadership of Neil Sutherland, became in- creasingly active in the affairs of the school, On the Student Council, the of- fice of Second Vice President was held hy Jack Cooper, and Jack Hinshaw filled the position of Third Vice President. In the field of dramatics, Barbara Farnsworth was admitted to Thespians. She and Jack Hinshaw coached the Sophomore Tournament play. Phyllis Whip- ple assisted in coaching the Freshman play, The Junior Tournament play cast was composed of Carol Clayton, Mary Thompson, Les Palmer, Richard Hicks and Calvin Anderson. Neil Sutherland and Jack Hinshaw acted as the school light crew. The Junior Prom Committee was made up of the class officers, Betty Wheeler, Phyllis Whipple, Les Palmer, and Neil Sutherland. The Junidr class sponsored a movie and dance to raise funds for this event. Juniors interested in journalism were on the Milwaukian staff. Calvin Anderson was assistant editor and Barbara Newman, Betty Wheeler and Pat Arnold were reporters. Carol Parker helped the Business Managers. Although a number of their lettermen had to leave for the service, the Junior class continued with its outstanding' athletic record of last year. Some of the participants were Jack Cooper, Richard Hicks, Charles Farnsworth, Donald Wright, Arnold Martinson, LeRoy Kullander, Les Palmer, and Joe Heater. Pat Curley, June Grossenbacher, Dorothy Martinson, and Lowell Noble were the Juniors on the Honor Roll for the first Semester.
