As we look back over our four years at Lutheran High, we cannot help but think of how swiftly this phase of our life has passed. We know that this time spent in a Christian atmosphere has not been wasted. We are at two turning points-the turning point of the century and of our life. Now is the time when we must decide whether we shall be children of God or chil- dren of the world. What the future holds for us we do not know, for our time is in God's hands. We can only pray that He help us to use our time wisely. DEDICATION Because music is one of the finest forms of expression we, as members of the Lutheran Church, make full use of its beauty in our worship. At Lutheran High we have truly learned to do this under the guidance of Mr. Paul Jungkuntz, our instructor of music. Most of us have sung in the choruses under his direction and have participated in the past eight concerts, which the Lord has graciously blessed with success. Mr. Jungkuntz began teaching at Lutheran High in our freshman year, and he has worked hard and patiently in bringing to us the ioy of music. We are very grateful for this, and therefore we, the Senior class, dedicate this 1951 Aurora to Mr. Jungkuntz. We wish him continued success in his work. 3 T0 THE SENIOR CLASS Dear Graduates: Commencement marks the beginning of a new phase of your iourney through life. You will shortly assume the responsibilities of adult liv- ing. Your happiness is assured if you will always say with St. Paul: I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. Phil. 4, 13. ln these words the apostle humbly acknowl- edges his reliance upon a strength greater than his own. St. Paul had learned to draw upon the inexhaustible power of the eternal God. He knew that with the help of Christ he could face and solve whatever problems life might bring. Paul's spiritual invincibility was deeply rooted in a living faith, it sprang from a realization of Christ's love for him as an individual. He suc- ceeded in life because of his total dependence upon the strength, love, and guidance of his gracious God. His was the victory which over- came the world. Such a life and victory can be yours if you will follow the example of St. Paul. Yes, you can do all things through Christ which strength- eneth you. 4 The position of principal at Lutheran High for the past two years has been filled by Mr. E. F. Eggold. The senior class wishes to express its gratitude for the help and guidance we have received from him in the time he has been here. We pray for God's continued guidance in his future work at Lutheran High. 5 VICE-PRINCIPAL Mr. R. G. Ernst, the vice-principal of Lutheran High, is in charge of the guidance department of the school. During our years at Luth- eran High he has helped us, the Class of 1951, with many of our problems. We hope that God will continue to bless his efforts with the graduating classes of the future. We know that, away from this troubled world, Beverly is far happier with her heavenly Father. She loved her school and her genuinely friendly manner was a credit to it. Her congenial nature made her a friend to many. After being graduated from Immanuel Lutheran School, Beverly entered Lutheran High in Septem- ber, l947. Here she spent two and a half years until her death on March 5, 1950, when God called her to her eternal home. 16 fo,- 62 WARREN BAERENWALD . . . But when a team like the l950 football squad takes the field against opponents who have greater weight, experience, and man power, it can afford to lose all its games be- cause it has not lost that which counts heaviest on the score board of sportsmanship and character -- the will to win, and the courage to lose. The 50 - 51 Season SLOW BUT SURE - After losing its first nine games and winning its tenth by only one point, this year's Varsity proved to be the dark horse of the Confer- ence--it went on from there to win five of eight Conference games for a three-way share of the Prep Conference championship. For the first time in 23 years the Varsity was not coached by Pat Falk. Although he still handled the B Team and the Freshman Team, he turned the Varsity over to his assistant E. Haeger. Two of this season's regulars were selected for All-Conference honors-Fred Wittkowske, as a guard on the first team, and Paul Hallanger, as a forward on the second team. Norman Jest was high man in scoring percentage and total points for the season. Conference Games 60 Racine Lutheran .... L.H.S 33 Northwestern Preps . . L.H.S. 65 M.U.S ..... .
