BOB K. KLOPPENBURG Here we have one of the hnest athletes to hit our school in the past decade. Kloppy . with a stoic expression that has vexed all his opponents as well as his teammates, has shown tremendous potential- ity in all of his chosen sports. Referred to by some as the little dynamo . he has lived up to that name with undiminishing energy. Off the Hill Bobs activities are numerous and well-known. Throughout this year his name has appeared in the Swmzplnwe on many occasions and in several connections. Kloppy is seldom caught Hatfooted by anyone and always has a quick comeback for all remarks. Often he has kept us in stitches with his deadpan humor, both in and out of class. Witlm Bob go the wishes of his classmates for a very successful life in whatever field he chooses. THGMAS D. KOCH Tom has been at CD. but one year, transferring to the School on the Hill from Whitehsh Bay High. However, he has done a remarkable job, not only in his academic work, but also in estab- lishing himself in school life as a high and mighty Senior . He has rapidly acquired the knack of getting his quota at the lunch table. which is quite an achievement. Tom played foot- ball under Mr. Wilstin this fall, and this winter under Mr. Laird he played another kind of foot- ball called Senior League basketball. We saw him on the tennis courts this spring, Tom has been a fine addition to our class this year, and we wish him all the luck in the world at Purdue next fall.

WILLIAM C. HOWLAND Here is the class joker-the practical joker. Billy has become notorious for his whimsical sense of humor. To some of the more gullible boys of the class, this young man has been a terrible dis- tractiong for he has a way of making people be- lieve the strangest things. Howlie has been a very conscientious worker throughout his many years at our school. Through the Ledger. the stu- dent council, and the office of prefect Bill has con- firmed the fact that he is a capable leader. In his early years Bill's size hampered him considerably in sportsg however, of late he has shown to us all that he is potentially a fine athlete. Willinims College will have a hne student and a wonderful fellow in Bill next year. ,,,, .,,. , HERBERT J. HUEBSCH, JR. Among his other accomplishments Herbie is well- known for his lusty cheer-leading despite his ap- parently conservative manner. He rates high scholastically in both English and history. He won the approval of his class by being elected to the student council, where he has served faithfully since his sophomore year. Herb holds the position of circulation manager for the Ledger, a duty which he has performed with a great deal of re- liability. He also is a staunch member of the glee club. In the winter he tries his luck as a captain of Senior Leagues. Herbie has his sights aimed at Grinnell. where we feel his abilities will be appreciated.

MYRON LASKIN Ron-Ron is one of the intellectuals at Country Day. He entered CD. in his freshman year and has been on the honor roll consistently ever since. Ron has managed the finances of the Ledger this year with constant efficiency. In the winter he is a member of that lusty group of blood-thirsty young men-Senior Leagues. Ronny has a true interest in things cultural: music, art, and liter- ature. Attending all the fine symphony concerts Milwaukee has to offer, Ron evaluates the per- formances with the critical mind of a connoisseur. He also has an interest in world politics and enjoys discussing events at home and abroad. Come Sep- tember, Ron-Ron hopes to be at home in the Harvard Yard. . 157' gf EMERSGN W. NOYES Emerson is one of those boys whom people can- not help liking. He is one of the very few re- maining members of the kindergarten class from which our present class has grown. Em can probably talk faster than any other boy in the schoolg for he has kept many an English, Latin, and German class in an uproar with his high speed oratory. He must think we are all deaf, for we are always saying what? every time he opens his mouth. His notorious adventures with the ladies and his ability to get in and out of more scrapes ought to make very good listening 10 years hence. As yet Em is a little uncertain about his future, but in whatever he chooses, he is bound to be successful.
