JOHN G. BELL Ever since Jack entered the school in his fresh- man year, his familiar stride and Ichab0d form have been a familiar sight around CD. Indeed, Jack has proved himself invaluable in many re' spects, for he has taken upon himself jobs which might seem ungainly to mostg for he has been a faithful cheer-leader for the past two years and has also contributed his innumerable talents to the Ledger in the capacity of assistant circulation manager. Although jack has not been a member of the student council, he has been a staunch promotor of student governmentg for many have been the helpful comments and suggestions as well as amendments which have stemmed from his den in the Ledger balcony. Northwestern will be pleased to greet jack next year. -abr JEROLD J. BISCHOFF And now we have jerry--good old jerry. ln his years at Country Day he has taken more kidding than any other boy in the class. His perpetual confusion in his speaking has made him one of the class characters. In spite of the fact that Bisch has been a strict and firm prefect, it may be said that he does not have an enemy in the school. jerry was president of the glee club this year, and his deep voice has made him an asset to the Gamboliers for two years. In athletics Jerry has been the workhorse of every team he has been on. Jerry has always done a creditable job in anything he tries. Next year, if all goes as planned, Michigan will have a swell freshman in jerry Bischoff.

A 614.44 of '48 NORBERT B. ENZER Nimbo is, without a doubt. one of the class's most prominent and ambitious members. As a result of his leadership and friendly manner, he has climaxed his four years at CD. by being elected Senior Class President and a Prefect. He is prob- ably also one of the most versatile seniors, for his interests are varied among student govern- ment - constant boosterg publications - Ledger editor: athletics-football, hockey and baseball standoutg social activities-B.G. His record at Country Day has been truly commendable, and he has done more for the class of '48 than any other senior. However, despite his full schedule. he always finds time to help a fellow classmate. w,llCIl1Cf it's Yale or Princeton we know hell climb to the top.

RICHARD j. CRITTENDEN Dick has won the position of one of the most forthright members of the class. His slow, logical way of explaining things makes him a very easy person to listen to. Critt has been a very hard- working editor of the Ledger. and he has proved himself very capable in this line. Dick has a very sensible view about the student council, as he does about everything. Dick's greatest ability lies in his scholarshipg he had maintained an honor roll average for four years. Tennis is his strong point in sports. Having played on the team since his freshman year, he was made captain for his senior year. Dick will attend Williams next year, and we know that he will do very well. STEPHEN M. CUSHMAN, JR. Marsh's quiet, tranquil manner and his residence in Racine make him a mystery man to most of the class. What his activities are on his week- ends, no one will ever know: but, however, we have found that inside his casual exterior lie a passion for hunting and a remarkable sense of humor. Everything seems to go easily for Marsh, and it seems that there is nothing that he cannot take in his stride. j.V. and touch football have usually occupied his afternoons in the fall, while Senior League basketball and track are his re- spective fortes in winter and spring. Chess and ritle club have consistently taken up his activity periods. VC'e wish him the best of luck at Ripon next year.
