Day In observance of the Fiftieth Anni- versary year, a beard-growing contest was held. Martin Smolik received first prize for the longest beard, Ard Blom- berg, the best appearing beard, and Chuck Campbell, the most original beard. Mr. Ashby, Mr. Suffridge, Miss Thomas, Miss Buel and Miss Durkee were the judges for the contest. Marilyn Terril and Wes Wagner were chosen by their class mates to reign as Miss and Mr. 1909 at the Hospitality Day Activities. Marilyn and Wes were crowned by the 1958 Melody Miss, Donna Cockroft.
