In Memoriam I ' .iul William Shaw We respectfully dedicate the 1959 SUNFLOWER to the memory of Professor Paul William Shaw. His death on September 11, 1958. was the result of an accident which occured while playing hall on the campus on September 3. Prof. Shaw joined the staff of Miltonvale College in 1955. After two years of service, he was recognized hv the National Science Foundation and being granted a leave of absence from Miltonvale College, he spent a year at the University of Illinois under the sponsorship of the Foundation. He and his family returned to MWC on September 1, 1958. Of an alert mind, congenial personality and abounding talent. Prof. Shaw lived his life among us in a manner that convinced everyone of his deep purpose to keep Christ first. His influence will continue exerting its strength upon us. helping mold us into better Christians. Prof. Shaw has left us a challenge — a challenge to answer God ' s call to Christian service and carry forward the work that has been so well begun by this man of God. I have fought a good fight. I have finished mv course. I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
