Raising many oo's and ah's from the specta- tors was the beautiful float, decorated with red and white tilted champagne glasses made from paper flowers with multi-colored balloons foating above. On the side was our theme, Cheers to M-U. Graciously waving and smil- ing to the crowd, the lovely queen candidates completed the decorations. Upon reaching the campus the tenseness and excitement reached a peak as the attractive attendants and candidates were escorted onto the memorial field by the football players. ,lust prior to the announcement of Homecoming Queen, the traditional hush fell over the crowd and then the proclamation was made, The 1967 Homecoming Queen is JOY MIN- NICHV' As the tears flowed freely down ,loy's cheeks, Carolyn Morter, former queen, placed the daz- zling crown upon her head and presented her with a dozen long-stemmed roses.
