' -Zfackwz? 2065 Bob Schul, a 1955 alumnus of Milton-Union, is the first American to bring home the coveted gold medal in the 5,000-meter race with a time of 13:48.8 at the Tokyo Olympics on Oct. 18, 1964. Through his great victory, Bob brought world-wide attention to West Milton and Milton-Union High School. And to show their appreciation and pride in their favorite son, West Milton honored Bob with a homecoming dinner followed by a parade through Troy and West Milton. In spite of zero weather more than 5,000 citizens lined theparade route through West Milton and another 4 fx 't ...E 2,000 were on hand to greet Bob, his wife Sharon, his parents Mr. and Mrs. Willard Schul, Ohio Gov. james Rhodes and many other dignitaries at a rally and special program held at the Milton-Union stadium on Nov. 29. On january 27, the student body had its chance to pay tribute to the Olympic winner and gave Bob a five minute standing ovation at the assembly held in his honor. We are very proud to claim Bob as an alumnus and as a great inspiration to the students of Milton-Union schools.
