In contrast to the first graduating class of two in 1883 is the 1959 class of 100, the largest in the history of Milton-Union. lfrom the log structure erected in 1806, Milton-Union has grown into the present-day, modern building. The first free school in West Milton was a one story edifice built in 1824 on the northeast corner of Main and Market Streets. The building now used for the ele- mentary grades was erected in 1909. The cornerstone for the present high school was laid in june of 1938 and later, in 1951, an addition was completed. With the recent building program Milton-Union continues to grow, thus greatly adding to its outstanding educational facilities. CONSTRUCTION OF THE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
