BASKETBALL Basketball at Milton High School showed vast improvement over pre vious years. Although their record was on the mediocre side the Eagles fielded a scrapping and talented team. After the disastrous season of the year before, the charges of Coaches Lou Roper and Carrol Beavers won six games and showed great promise of things to come. Only two starters, Douglas Haney and Marcus Fouts graduate. On the feminine side of the ledger the picture was about the same, a year or two away but improving with every game. One thing can be said about the Lady Eagles, they beat our neighbor to the South Roswell, both times the teams played This in itself is an accomplish ment which takes some of the sting out of other defeats. Coach Gus Letchas loses only three players from this year's squad, Ann Reese, La Rae Hall and Sandra Upshaw. The winningest team at Milton was the boys' B Team, coached by Ralph Wilson. After a slow start they ended up winning fourteen games, including ten in a row. These boys have gained valuable ex- perience that can be put to good use on the varsity next year.
