Senior Class History Seventeen very green Freshmen climbed the stairs of M. H. S., September 1, 1949. Our class sponsor was Mrs. Graham. Our class officers were: Peggy Hack, President, Sue Thurmon, Vice-Presidentg Bob Hack, Secretary and Treasurerg Mary Beth Reel, Reporter. Sue Thurmon was our candidate for Harvest Queen, and Bob Hack, candidate for King. At the first of the term we lost Charles Barnes, and during the second semester we gained Fanny May Adams. On September 5 1950 we entered school as Silly Sophomores Mrs Meyer was our class sponsor Our class officers were Bryce Bolton President Jim Hoover Vice Pres1dent Buster Walk Secretary Joan Smith Treasurer Emma Shipley Reporter Mary Beth Reel and Jim Hoover represented our class as Queen and Klng candidates at the Harvest Festlval Sue Thurmon and Peggy Hack represented the Sophomores as cheerleaders In the fall of 51 we entered M H S as Jolly Juniors with our enrollment dropping to twelve and later to eleven Our class sponsor was Mrs Barngrover and our class officers were Sue Thurmon President Bob Hack Vice President Peggy Hack Secretary Emma Shipley Trea surer Joan Smith Reporter and our Student Council members we1e Mary Beth Reel and Leland Sldwell Emma Shipley and Leland Sldwell were candidates for Queen and King Peggy Hack was cheerleader from our class The highlight of the year was our Class Play entltled Could Be We returned to M H S September 6 1952 as Sophisticated Seniors Harold Carter Joined our noble ranks and increased our number to eleven Our class offlcers were James Hoover President Eva F1elder Vice President Mary Beth Reel Secretary and Treasurer John Clary and Eva Fielder Student Council members Eva Flelder was our Queen Candi date and John Clary was crowned Kmg Sue Thurmon was elected cheer leader Ed1tor in Chlef Assistant Ed1tor BUSIHQSS Manager Snapshot Editors Sports Editor Humor Social Editor Class Will Class Prophecy ANNUAL STAFF Mary Beth Reel Bob Hack Peggy Hack Sue Thurmon Eva Fielder Albert McEuen John Clary Jim Hoover Mary Ellen Roberts Harold Carter Mary Ellen Roberts Harold Carter il ' YI 1 7 I ' '. . . : 3 f 9 J 9 A ' . . 9 u ' as vf 1 , . . .
