' Whuw We, the class of 1959, are proud to be the first graduating class to have completed all three years of high school work in the new building. Soon after entering high school in September 1956, our class was organized with the election of Janet Cupp, Presidentg Barbara Frederick, Vice President, Suzanne Stempfly, Secretary, William Snyder, Treasurer, and Wilma Frederick, Historian. We also elected Miss Bower and Mr. Izer as class advisors. Our project for this year was a magazine sale. The year was concluded with a picnic at Knoebel's Grove. Our junior year, Janet Cupp was elected President assisted by William Snyder, Vice President, Judy Godfrey, Secretary, Michael Foust, Treasurerg and Linda Mack, Historian. Mr. Taylor was elected class advisor to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Mr. Izer. At the same time we chose green and silver as our official class colors. Our Junior class play was a blood-curdling mystery, Rehearsal for Death. The junior year was climaxed by once again picnicking to Knoebel's Grove, and celebrating our promotion to the rank of Seniors. September 4, 1958 was an important date, for on that day we began our last year in high school, a year of increased interests and activities. Janet Cupp was again elected President with Sue Stempfly, Vice Presidentg Bonnie Fisher, Secretary, Mike Foust, Treasurer, and Linda Mack, Historian. One of the highlights of the year was the annual class play, Rebel Without a Cause. Many of our most pleasant memories will be not only those of classwork projects and discussions, but also those of extracurricular activities - Snow Dance, May Dance, Tri-Hi-Y, Key Club, C.A.A., interscholastic and intramural sports, Band, Chorus, Student Cguncil, History Club, Echoes, F.H.A., F.T.A., Field Day, and many others. Graduation on June 2, 1959 will officially close the school history of the class of 1959, but will officially begin the individual history of each of its members. History is a record of man's deeds. MISS JANE E. BOWER We, the seniors of 759, elected Miss Bower and Mr. lzer as our class advisors in our sophomore year. In our junior year, Mr. lzer was appointed Director of Health, Physical Education, and recreation. Therefore, we elected Mr. Taylor to replace Mr. lzer. We wish to thank all the advisors who have helped us in our class projects, and we especially want to thank Miss Bower and Mr. Taylor for their help and guidance during our Senior High School Days. fa e 4 cf 6 an Z I 6 4 4 4 6 Q 2 4 As we, the class of 1959, prepare to take the next step in life, it is with deep regret that we leave all our wonderful times in M.H.S. behind us, never to be recaptured. Here, as carefree youth, we laughed and worked together for three memorable years - classwork, conferences, football games, dances and parties. We have corne a long way since our sophomore year, yet the time has seemed so short. As the first class to spend three years in the new building, we thank those who hoped and worked and planned for this building. We wish to express our sincere gratitude to the members of the faculty who have so patiently prepared us for this milestone in our lives. To our advisors, we extend our thanks for their support and guidance in all our endeavors. We encourage the undergraduates to take advantage of all educational opportunities, to preserve the beauty of our building, and to maintain the ideals of M.H.S. b In the future, life for the class of 1959 will not follow a set pattern. Each member must find happiness in his own way. To meet the challenge of living in this age, each must stand firm in his loyalty to American ideals of freedom and democracy with humility before God.
