ORANGE AND BLACK CLASS SONG fTune, Aloha Oe J Our school-days now are past and gone, And yet we fondly linger hereg So that we may sing our farewell song, To old High and our pals who are so dear. Chorus Farewell to thee, dear Milton High, Duty calls us now to other plains. One fond, last look before we say good-bye, Until we meet again. Long will our hearts recall each joy That bound us in sweet friendship here 5 For time can nevermore destroy Tender mem'ries we've gathered in four years 30

ORANGE AND BLACK Presidents Farewell Address THOMAS M. REIMENSNYDER Mr. Superintendent, Parents, Friends, Members of the Faculty, and Fellow Students: It is with feelings of mingled joy and sadness that I speak to you on this occasion. It is a feeling of sadness because we are about to bid farewell to our school career in Milton High. We shall not forget the tender memories that will linger in our thoughts of these happy and profit- able school days. It is a feeling of joy, for we have spent happy hours in each other's company and fellowship. To the members of the faculty, our instructors, we owe much. They have spent anxious hours of labor, aid- ing us in storing up such knowledge as will help us in the pursuits of the arduous tasks which await us in the other fields of activity. It is a joy and inspiration because we now face the realities of life. We have our first real view of the golden lields facing us in this world of opportunities. Some of us will continue the pursuit of knowledge in the higher institutions of learning. that we may be further equipped with armor essential for useful and efficient ser- vice in this great historic age. Instructors and classmates, as we pass on in life, we shall ever hold hallowed memories of our school days in Milton. With the passing of years, these memories will grow more precious. To you, my fellow students, may I speak a word, ask- ing you to continue on the upward path upon which We have already entered. Let us ever so conduct ourselves as to reiiect along the pathway of life that which will honor our home and our Alma Mater. Let not one of us ever be associated with anything that would cast a shadow upon these sacred walls, dedicated to the help and inspiration of growing and developing manhood and womanhood. And now, as president of my class, it becomes my im- portant duty and great privilege, to take from my shoulders the mantle and confer it upon my successor, the president of the Class of '25. May you, sir, ever wear it to the honor of our High School, and pass it on with untarnished folds, as year by year we move onward and upward on the way to useful and splendid attainment. 29

ORANGE AND BLACK CLASS OF '24 EVELYN ALMINA KOCH Milton High School, we bid you a fond farewell It is the last day of the year. Our feelings are both of joy and sorrow, For the parting time is here. The years spent with thee, dear High, Have flitted away on wings of gold. Our hearts are sad at partingg As we leave thy protecting fold. Friendships formed here, dear school, Will always linger in our mindg And here within thy sacred walls We've formed friendships of that kind. When many years shall pass away, And season follows season 'round, Perhaps a member of '24 With fame and honor will be crowned. How your heart will glow with pride then, If one of you should glory wing To say among your fellowmen: I used to go to school with him ! O, may every member of '24 Look fondly back upon this year As one which in the total sum Of all your life will stand out clear. 31
