Beyond the applause on opening night is another goal, the coveted certificate and pin of the National Thespian So- ciety. This year the combination of our new stage, more difficult plays, and stiffened membership requirements has increased the challenge. By February, eleven seniors and two juniors had qualifiedg after the May initiation a record number will be wearing the insignia of the double mask.

This year our Dramatic Club had a dream come true - an enor- mous stage, an intricate lighting system - everything We need that the show might go on. The premiere production was the sen- ior class play, Tom Ionesf, the story ol' a uparagon of virtue - misunderstood as the good so often are-.U See pages 102 and 103 for behind-the-scenes and on-stage pictures. Aided by the spirit of an enthusiastic director, Miss Cave, the Dramatic Clulm planned a very full year. Second Row: John Quatromoni, Howard London, James McDonough, Senior Student Council The Student Council has increased its already large contributions to Milton High School and to the community. The council has promoted the Save the Childrenls Federationv by collect- ing usable clothing from the students. At the time of the national election the council also helped with a 5'Get out the vote campaign? For the school, the council has helped in the scholarship drive by selling candy at basketball games and by sponsoring rummage sales and cake sales. It also sold note- books, sweat shirts, and book covers to raise money for its general functions. Besides being active within the school and the community, the Student Coun- cil has sent delegates to the Eastern Massachusetts Student Council Con- vention and to the Massachusetts State Student Council Convention.
