Seniors, my message this year for your annual, “The Clipper,” includes exhortations, expectations and congratulations. EXHORTATIONS: “Great lives never go out, they go on.” “A handful of the good life is worth a bushel of learning.” “Three C’s that help you grow: character, courage, curiosity.” Lincoln once said, “I will study and prepare myself.” It took uncounted hours of study before they launched the first space missiles. There is wisdom in study. Wisdom is greater than knowledge because it causes people to seek knowledge. EXPECTATIONS: Though you are one of the largest classes ever to graduate from Milton High School, I still expect at least half of this class to continue study in higher institutions after your graduation. This will be the largest percentage of any class graduating from Milton School to attend college. CONGRATULATIONS: Class of 1959: I am honored with the position of being your teacher and principal and shall forever cherish the memory of my associations with you. I congratulate you upon your graduation, and may health, high hopes and happi- ness be yours as you go forth to reach success.
