CLASS HISTORY 1953-1954 At last ! Here we were, twenty-seven strong, entering our first day as freshmen in senior high school. Entering high school was like being on the first rung of a long ladder, and beginning a climb which would prepare us for our future years in life. Our class, under the guidance of our homeroom teacher. Miss Mary Pizzadili, embarked upon this journey with great success by being well represented in all activities of high school, such as sports, clubs, music, etc. In our sophomore year, we began to feel more at ease and to take the re- sponsibilities of high school in our stride. Money-making projects were begun to aid in supplying funds for our future years as juniors and seniors. We really felt important because members of our class were on the first string teams in sports, and were taking their places as leaders in all school activities. Just one rung from the top, we as juniors were looking forward to a year filled with fun and excitement, along with hard work. Our Junior Revue”, under the supervision of Mrs. Wilma Chambers and Mr. Lemuel Evans, started the ball of successful events rolling. Although the Revue” required much time and hard work by all, it was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone because it was some- thing different, and we were proud to be the originators of it. The year was happily brought to an end by the long-awaited Junior-Senior Prom. The last- minute decorating, making sure everything was in place, and praying for a perfect night with no mishaps, will be included in the fond memories of our prom. Now we are seniors, impossible though it seems, having reached the last and final rung of the ladder which will lead us each to our destinies and careers of life. The yearbook and “Senior Revue” were the outstanding accomplish- ments of the first half of our year as seniors. After Christmas and the Christmas Dance, we conducted several more money-making projects to increase the funds for our senior trip in the spring. The climax of this hectic and final year will be graduation in June. Twenty- four from a class that once numbered fifty-two wiU receive our diplomas, having completed the first plateau of life, only to face a higher and more difficult one where we must seek our places, and fulfill the ambitions that we have been preparing for during the past twelve years. 1954-1955 1955-1956 1956-1957
