School I-hstory When M1ss Mar1on Marshall rang the school bell on September 7 1942 eleven happy faces greeted her for the flrst t1me They were R1ley Dorson Douglas Fr1tzel R1chard Hall B1lly House Joanne Humphrey Jean Kltch Vada McMan1s Jerry Murphy Harold Nelson Ph1l1p Younker and Frances Z1hlman When we entered the second grade we found that R1ley Dorson and Jerry Murphy had moved away and Joseph Lunstrum and B11ly Cook had Jomed us Durmg our thlrd year Douglas Frxtzel and Joseph Lunstrurn moved away and Lloyd Coles was added to our group The fourth grade found us Wlth f1ve new pup1ls Robert Davls Johnny Daugherty Donna Knupp Robert Dugger and Ray McLeland Lloyd Coles had moved away In the f1fth grade elght new members Jolned us Nancy Lawrence V1rg1n1a Schullo Judlth Lee Donna Coward Beverly Baker Eugene Overstreet Larry Swalm and Phylhs Houston Johnny Daugherty and Donna Knupp had moved away Robert Dugger and Judlth Lee left us 1n the s1xth grade and we welcomed Maman Nelson The follow1ng year found us wlth f1ve new members Charles Jacobs Jack1e R1tz Al1ce Thompson Carolee Wlnsell and Donna Knupp Jean K1tch left us to move to Fa1rf1eld and Nancy Lawrence moved to Memphls MIBSOUT1 The elghth grade class contlnued to lncrease w1th LOUISE Snodgrass and Jeanne Loar but we lost Charles Jacobs and A11Ce Thompson In the fall of 1950 e1ghteen members entered hlgh school Freshman 1n1t1at1on was carr1ed out w1th no casualt1es but we lost Betty Mallet and Maman Nelson Our total enrollment was as follows Beverly Baker Donna Coward George Kayser Rlchard Hall Phyll1s Houston Lee Holsapple Joanne Humphrey Donna Knupp Ray McLeland Vada McMan1s Harold Nelson Eugene Overstreet Lou1se Snod grass Larry Swalm Carolee W1nsell Ph1l Younker and Frances Zlhlman We then entered our sophomore year w1th the same group but durmg th1s term Harold Nelson left us to take up a vocat1on Dur1ng the surnmer followlng thls year Ray Mc Leland left to attend school at Cantrll As Junlors we real1zed our f1nal year at M1lton H1gh was rapldly approachlng and lt was more d1st1nct1y h1ghl1ghted at our Jun1or Sen1or banquet We all helped 1n putt1ng on the banquet and all 11keW1S6 enjoyed lt to the last rnlnute Now after we have flnally gone almost to the end of our good old days at M1lton we are left w1th tlurteen members 1n our class Beverly Baker Donna Coward R1chard Hall Phylhs Houston Lee Holsapple George Kayser Vada Younker Eugene Overstreet Lou1se Snodgrass Larry Swalm Carolee Wmsell Ph1l Younker and Frances Z-1hlman Only four of us have attended all twelve years at M1lton They are R1chard Hall Vada Younker Ph1l Younker and Frances Z1hlman 10 I 1 1 . - , 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 , 1 I I , . .
