Om auadez Zwwifmzaqaz? By signing the Deed of Trust in 1909, Milton and Catherine Hershey provided- the opportunity for young people to obtain an education and a place to live. Now nearly seven decades later, the school has grown from its humble beginnings into an institution of prominence. The school's program is-provided for by money from the trust fund established by our founders. Without perseverance, Mr. Hershey might have been defeated by failures he met before achieving success in his candyrnaking endeavors. Chocolate's popularity allowed the Hersheys to fulfill their dreams for children whose lives had been touched by tragedy.

' A ' , ' 5 f -zli rg' Bill Norton works in the kitchen. Barn chores are still an important part of the student home program. Scott Fasnacht does a house chore. Milton Hershey School students have been provided with student homes in which to reside. These homes, each equipped with the facilities to accommodate as many as sixteen students, are spread out over the Schoo1's campus. Students maintain their student homes under the responsibility of a general chore program. Many students of the Senior Division also have the responsibility of caring for a dairy barn shared by two student homes. 3
