He had been in ill healfh since mid-December, The resull' of an operafion Ias+ summer for an in+es+inal obs+ruc+ion. He was 28 years of age. A life-long residenl of Norlhumberland unfil 'Phe las+ few years. he was gradualed 'From 'l'he high school fhere in I937. He aH'ended Susquehanna Universi+y, where he played varsily baskeiball for 'three years. ln I943 he received a bachelor of science degree in commercial educafion. Shorfly +hereaf+er he enlered 'I'he Navy. He had Naval Reserve Officers Training al Noire Dame Universify and was graduaied la+e in I943 as an ensign in +l1e Gunfire Supporl' Group. He served in loolh 'ihe E. T. O. and ihe Asiafic-Pacific Thealer. He was discharged May I8. I946, as a lieu+enan+, junior grade, and commanding officer of LSM 345. On February lb, I946, in San Francisco, he married Miss Pauline M. Gilliland, of Charlolie, N. C., a former lieufenanl' in lhe Army Nursing Corps. Their son Randall was born May 9, I947. We, +he Class of I948, dedicaie +his page 'lo rhe memory of Mr. Wolfe, a 'Fine young man who was liked by all who knew him.
