Baseball Activities Cecil Hook was elected base 'ball captain of the Milo High School for the fall season of 1922. We had most of our last year's ball team. Septelnber 22 the Milo High Base Ball team journeyed to Liberty Center for the tirst game of the season with the following line up: C. Hook, Catcherg Amesbenry, Pitchg Wilbur, Short Stopg Ruble, First Baseg Duncan, Second Baseg Quiggle, Third Base, Davey, Right Field: Savage, Center Fieldg E. Hook, Left Field. The score was 8 to 2 in favor of Milo. October 6 the team played Liberty Center at Liberty Center. The diamond was muddy and hard on our boys without ball shoes. T-he score was 6 to 1 in favor of Liberty Center. Only tive innings were played. Friday evening, March 2, 1923, the Milo High boys met and elected Lowell Quiggle captain of the team for the year of '23, We have most of the boys back again this year and we expect great bhings of them. 35

Girls' Basketball On October 20, the Milo Basket Ball Girls started their' season with a new team also. This game was played at Milo and ended witih a score of 28 to 14 in favor of the Lacona girls. November 8, the girls played a second game with the Lacona girls on the home court. Oiur girls easily won this game with a score of 10 to 5. November 17, the girls played a game with the Dallas team at Milo, This ga-me was lost to Dallas by the sqore of 34 to 10. N'0VEIl1lJ91' 24, we played our last game of the season with Liberty Center on their floor. This game was lost by the score of 20 to 3 to the Liberty Center girls. The lack of a gymnasium greatly handicapped our basket ball teams.
