eeeeeo ee eeee THE SKY 'ROCKET eeeo eeeeeeeeee Adna Woodward, teacher of English and History, graduated from the Burlington High Schtol in 1917, then entered the State University the following fall. While in the university, she took part in numerous college activities, acted as assistant in the history department, and joined the Alpha Tau Beta sorority. Miss Woodward is a popular teacher, requiring a high caliber of work from her pupils and showing a sympathetic interest in their efforts to improve. She inspires her classes to t-hink for themselves and presents the highest ideals to them, Blythe Clayton, at one time I1 student of the Milo school, is eminently fitted to be its High School l'1-incipal. She took the scholarship as a Ill0lIllil'l' ol' the graduating class of 1916, and is well known among the townsfolk, school patrons, and students as a conscientious and capable worker. After four years at Simpson College, Indianola, where she took exceptional honors in scholarship, and 'became a member of the Pi Beta Phi fraternity, Miss Clayton joined the faculty of the Indianola High School. During .her two years as instructor in mathematics there she gained a reputation as an excellent teacher and won the regard of her students and faculty associates. Her principalship -here, has, in one short year, won her the respect of all who work with her, both teachers and students. Her quiet charm of personality, her practical idealism and her ability to stimulate the best impulses in those about her has infused a new spirit into the High School. Always enthusiastic in furthering the interests of the young people, willing to give lavishly of her time and energies in their welfare, Miss Clayton is one to whom we all tlll'll for inspiration and leadership. Bessie Graham graduated from the Oskaloosa High School and later attended Penn College. As a teacher, she was well liked, especially by the Home-Economics girls. She left us the first of March to be married. Doris Davitt has only been in the High School a short time, but its already recog- nized as a very capable instructor. She is a graduate of Boone High School in 1915, and of the State University in 1919, where she was a member of the Gamma Phi Beta sorority, 8.
