Mistress of Ceremonies was Marion Williams, and the James. Comeau. Avis Mitchell, Marylin Buck and Irie Buz' zel represented Milo High School' in the county spelling match,held in Dover-Foxcroft, . May 12, under tye sponsorship of Mrs. Stanley Doak Rice of that town. he Preliminary matches were held in the En- glish classes, three spellers being chosen from each division. This group was spelled down and thefive students who won positions on the team were Avis Mitchell, Marylin Buck, Beverly Tarbell, Iris Buzzell, and Clarice Chadbourne, the last two being named alternates. As Beverly - Tarbell was unable to take part, the first alternate, Iris Buzzell, took her place. The team was successfully coached by Mrs. Pauline Kealiher of the faculty. The award, given by Mrs. Rice, to the winning school is a cup, on which is engraved the name of the winner and that of his school.
