I M ' saw the flashes of lightning spread terror and destruction. Then the rain cameo ' I Q I touched a drop of rain that fell on my handg It was a tearta s .God's tear shed on such a world as ours, And I heard Him say in a wonderful voice, 'Forgive them, for they know not what they do.n I I s a- Richard Sonier '44 SAVED - ' ' The man, tired and weary, trudged along the road. ' His head was bent by age and utter poverty, His back stooped by the burdens and cares of the years, Night came with its blustering fury, g Night, raging and blowing across the fields. On, on, he walked, never halting Until, at last, a slight pause of the blizzard, And stopping, he raised his humble hands to celestial heights, Begging almighty God to hear him, And by his benediction save him from the frost-bitten snow and curses of mankind. ,V There by the side of the road, in the peaceful calm of the following morn, . The people found his frozen figure, lying still in death His hands clutched a broken rosary. His face wore the peaceful look of one free from all sorrows, Through his trust and faith, God had interceded, And rendered him safe from the snow and the hail. g A ' ' rG1or1a Morin '44
