If we won, we would, be tied with Dover on this side of the county. we were defeated A6 to 38 in an exciting game. L. Strout was high scorer with 20 points. The captain was Ralph Jordan. , V T ' Awe Sangerville vs. Mllc ' .A . 4 ' Sangerville came' to Milo for the return game with us. This was a well played game on both sides. It wash fast and anybodyls game all the way to fthe final gun.- The score finally read 33 to 31 in favor of Milo. .High scorer and captain was B. Houston with ll points. T - g 1 Q t' ' e ' ' Howland vs. Milo g ' ' ' g The Panthers climbed back' into the winnin column by coming from behind to win to the tune of L4 to 35. .We were really hot in the last two minutes ofa play. High scorers were B. Houston and G. Harmon with 15 points each., The cap- tain was J. It was eanybody'a ball game until the Panthers turned on the ,pressure. .Cap- tain L. Strout played a fine game by scoring 22 points. V 'd g Gnilford vs. Milo T f our next game was played up to Guilford. The Guilford boys added one mane game to'tneir enviable record by beating us by a score ,of 55 to 33. Lg Strout was again high scorer with 20 points. The captain was G. Guilford vs. Milo The Golden Panthers of Guilford High School came to Milo with a siiegame winning streak. After a close first half they pulled ahead to make it seven in a row. The score was 55 to 28. High scorer was B. Houston with 24 points. G, Harmon was appointed captain. K , Dover-Foxcroft vs. Milo This was our second county game., The Ponies were really Hhotn and defeated us by a score of 62 to 30. During this game 51 fouls were made. High scorer and captain was B. Houston with 12 points. Greenville vs. Milo Our next game was witH'Greenville up there. It was a nip and tuck game until Greenville surged ahead in the last quarter. Most of the boys had, by this time, gained the experience which they lacked at the beginning of the season. G. Harmon was high scorer with 10 points and 0..Smith was Captain. A . Dexter vs. Milo Dexter came to Milo for our seventh game. Up until the last few minutes of play the game was close, then the Dexter boys turned on the pressure and won by the score of L2 to 33.. High scorer was B. Houston with lt points. The captain was G. Harmon, Dover Informals ya. Milo V 71 , - -V ,Yao The Dover Informals came to Milo with some former Fox- croft stars and were defeated by a score of 76 to 27. This was our largest score of the season. Captain and high scorer was L. Strout with 38 points. Brownville Junction vs, Milo Our next game was played with Brownville Junction up there. The Black Panthers played a hard game and won by a score of 30 to 20. For this game we had two new members on the first team, L. Strout and R. Jordan. L. Strout was captain and also high scorer with ll points.

Hackett 2 Ga Carey 1 r GIRLS' BASKETBALL ' 1 Coach Lush issued her first call for practice for the l9h3-kb season in November. About twenty-one girls reported for the initial practice, and only five dropped out dur- ing the season. r . ' N There were only two veteran players left from last yesr's squad, Gloria Morin,e forward, and Ada Hall, a guard. The girls that gained berths on the first team were Alice Hatt, center forwerdg Mfrylin Buck, right forwerdg Ada Hall, center' guardg Catherine Strout, right guard, and Norma Hamlin, left guard. -The second team wee made up of Phyllis Joy, Shirley Harmon, Ketherine'Davis, Doris Rhoda, Sylvia Dartnell, and Olive Strout. ' The girls' season, on the whole, wes not too successful as the team lost nine out of ten games plsyed,but the scores indicate that many of the genes were closely contested. The girls scored, throughout the season, 253 points while their opponents scored 372. High scorer was G. Morin scoring llh points followed by Alice Hott with 71 tnllies and M. Buck with 51. ' The team was very efficiently managed by Janet Hoskins. At the close of the sefson Ada Hall was chosen honorary cap- tain. 1 V
