Excellence! Accepting the award for excellence in education, from Madeline Will, Assistant Secretary of Education United States Department of Educa- tion, Washington D.C., is Principal Jimmy Scales. On September 28,1984, the Unit- ed States Department of Education recognized Millwood in an assem- bly for Excellence in Education. Millwood is one of only four sec- ondary schools in Oklahoma hon- ored. There were 555 Schools na- tionwide nominated for this award. The schools were rated on what the Department of Education terms the 14 attributes of successful schools. We were visited for a close-up rat- ing period.
