 An idle mind is the devil’s work- shop.” A rolling stone gathers no moss, well whatever, the point is, if you're busy, or involved in something, chances are your time will be put to good use. That's the policy at Millwood. Stu- dents and faculty alike are able to par- ticipate in events and functions not only after school, but often during school. Pep rallys, musical presentations, films, and a variety of other activities give everyone time for relaxation, and change from the ordinary. After staying in classrooms throughout the day, an appreciation for spare time is acquired, soon a student may find himself looking forward to one of those frequent intercom bulletins or even an unexpected fire drill. But soon the day ends at school, and other activities begin at home. 4

Experience The students and faculty of Millwood come from a wide cross-section of backgrounds and locations. After school hours many faculty members com- mute to Edmond, Guthrie, and other towns nearby. Others live in walking distance, living nearby so they can devote all their spare time to the students they enjoy so much, five days a week! Every now and then you might see one of your teachers in a grocery store or some other place and find yourself surprised that they actually do more than make homework assignments and sometimes make you won- der if they are human! But faculty, students, admin- istration, and other personnel here at Millwood have set an example for many other schools. Proving the attributes of racial integration and how when formed gradually by per- sonal concern it will, can, and has worked at Millwood. Perhaps this is the reason Millwood runs so smoothly, dur- ing school, and many hours 6 after.
