ke NAVY BLUE The Navy at Millsaps has brought a vindication of the method of the liberal arts college. The noble traditions so carefully treasured through the succes- sive classes have not been destroyed under these dif- ferent circumstances; the worth of our system has been adhered to by the program. The seriousness of the time and the acute need of better equipped men and women have given Millsaps a greater opportunity for service a service that has always been the ultimate aim of this college. Today, as a realization of this desire, the Navy is on our campus. Their challenge and spirit have become one with ours — and we strive together towards a common goal.

jJea Lcalea t Millsaps College has been greatly influenced by the Naval Training Unit, and the Naval Unit has been influenced by the college. It is with an abiding sense of pride and appropriat eness that this volume is dedi- cated to the best representative manifestations of both spirits — to the Unit itself, and to Professor Sanders. Professor Sanders ' abounding intelligence, abil- ity to meet changing conditions, and ableness to serve in every capacity have made him identical with what is the best of this generation. His cooperative attitude, his sincere interest, and his untiring loyalty to a higher idealism have typified at Millsaps a standard of excellence. So this Bobashela is gratefully dedicated to two expressions of Millsaps, neither of which is separated from the other in concept. We are proud of the splen- did relationship between the Naval Training Unit and the college.
