lM There comes to mind the realization of the great progress our college has made during past decades and the many factors that have contrib- uted toward this success. With the advent of co- education at the turn of the century, women stu- dents have played a great part in the growth of our institution. Honorary societies have been created to offer recognition for outstanding achievements on the part of co-eds; an extensive athletic program has been inaugurated for their benefit; and numerous activities have been modi- fied to encourage their participation. It is sig- nificant that one of the first points in the drive toward a greater Millsaps is the erection of a new dormitory for women. It is these factors and the influence that co-education has had in making a more outstanding Millsaps that motivates us to dedicate this volume to — the Millsaps co-ed.
