Upon your graduation you automatically assume responsible membership in this society which entitles you to both the opportunity and the responsi- bility for leadership in helping your community organize itself for continuous and effective growth in democratic self direction. There is no better way to secure this growth than through education. Education is a good investment, not only for the student who invests his time and energy in study, but for the business men and everyday member of society who invests his money and interests in better education, for the safety and well being of the individual depends on social order and security. The indispensable key to un- derstanding among people is education. As a citizen it becomes your duty to cooperate intelligently in maintaining a humane and democratic spirit in all social functions. You will assist in developing social standards, social philosophies, and knowledge of the science of good and evil.
