I9 Zfhe Gzgalalcte Senlor Class HlStOfV In the fall of 1948 forty tvso eager Freshmen entered BIIHS Pralrle Commumty Hxgh School at Burnt Praxrle Our school consxsted then of one room tor each class We were sxtuated ln the upstalrs of the Burnt Prame Grade School We elected for our class officers Nexl Vaughn Presldent Gene Grlswold Vlce Presldent and Chester Phlllxps Secretary Treasurer We were proud to be ln hlgh school and even though we were known as green Freshmen soon we were becomlng more educated and havxng lots ot fun We had been happy to be ln h1gh school our Freshman year and were qulte SatlSfled wxth the bu1ld1ng untll we came to our new school surroundmgs as Sophomores We now had a beautlful new long low type buxldlng modern ln every detall Nme of our classmates d1d not avall themselves of the opportumty to attend thls f1ne new buxldxng Some had Just qu1t others had moved away The thlrty three members that we had le1t worked together tormmg closer txes as the days wore on We The next year we were proud Junlors We had many good tlmes together and now reallzed our responsxbxlltles toward our school our parents and patrons and our future Only twenty flV8 remamed to carry on our standards The class offlcers were J lm Gammon Presldent Gene Grlswold Vlce Presldent Ivan Stewart Secretary Treasurer and Ray Anderson Reporter We chose the red rose as our class flower and Wmners never qu1t Qultters never w1n as our motto At last the thrlllxng moment arrlved we were the lmportant Senlors ready to dlctate to the under classmen flaunt our superlorlty and prove to the world that we knew It all There were only twenty ot us lett to accomplxsh our ambltlons We elected Ray Anderson as our class Presldent Chester Ph1ll1ps V1ce Presldent Delores Pollard Secre tary 'lreasurer and Audrey Masterson Reporter We chose the red rose as our class flower for the second SUCCBSSIVG year Our class motto was Thls above all to thine own self be true and lt must follow as the nlght the day thou canst not then be false to any man ' 52 D , - V u i . . . .
