1 5 MGA Cabxnot SEATED let! to nght Carol Henderson Ton Gutwoxn Marqarela Sodorborg Anna Harbak Lynn Musso Ga le Pxncus and Iud Cuneo STANDIN Mar Donmn er Leno e DsMat 1 K thloe K ll b 1' Kath y y y g 1' rm a n u on u q y Heshn Advxsor MISS Dawne Bernhardt Ixll Evans Penny Lawrance Ga1l Patnck Barbara Hull Kathy Benson Mills Girls Assoclatlon With a year of success and experience behind it Mills Girls Association had begun a second year of activities under the direction of Dean Dawne Bernhardt Early in the fall semester many girls applied to be on the MGA cabinet Those applicants were then interviewed and rudged on their scholarship activities and en thusiasm After a direct election of the remain ing candidates the sixteen girls began opera tion with the addition of two honorary members exchange students Margareta Soderberg and Renate Paumgarten The inauguration of the Mills Girls Associa tion s new cabinet members took place on Octo ber 21 at MGA s first assembly of the year Pat Nielson last years president called the meet ing to order and passed the gavel to the new president ludy Cuneo The cablnet members garbed in new uniforms red lumpers and white blouses were then introduced Presentation of uniforms to the two foreign exchange students and honorary cabinet members Margareta So derberg and Renate Paumgarten followed. The first event the cabinet undertook was the bolstering of the treasury through the sale of programs at the football games. The major fund raising protect of the semester 1nvolved the sale of Viking stationery with the proceeds desig nated for the scholarship fund To add fun and amusement to the spring se rnester the cabinet spent a day at Stanford Uni versity where members enroyed a bicycle tour a visit to the new Medical Center a tour of the book store a tour of a girls dormitory and a luncheon on campus During the year the cabinet added an informa tive aspect to their weekly meetings by hearing different members of the faculty talk on specific interests Mr Tognettr spoke on the operation and care of automobiles Mr Palazzi discussed the attractions and entertainment available in the Bay Area Numerous activities were conducted which were open to all girls The highlight of the year was the very successful girl ask boy Christmas formal Fantasy 1n Frost The Dad Daughter fun night a program inaugurated last year was held in April and gave glrls an opportunity to socialize with their fathers. The final event of the year a senior tea honoring the graduating girls of Mills was in the planning stage at press time.
