A Gob MORRISON mee ET: i GEORGE Guys. er FORBIS iY), TEAM ie a x VA — = a IN Ba a ‘if FLEMING FOOTBALL - 1954 by Daniel Bennett, Coach This past football season, from the point of view of games won and lost, was not particularly impressive, This year, however, Millis made great strides toward a comeback that makes the future of football in the school very bright for the coming year, This year’s team had a season's record of three wins and four losses; two of the losses to the neighboring towns of Medfield and Medway were by one touchdown, A little bit of luck in either game could have turned the defeat into a victory for Millis, This past year saw the team led by Co-Captains George Smith and Donald Ackroyd, The play of both co-captains was an inspiration and an example to the rest of the boys, George's fine offensive play in all games and Donald's defensive play were important in all Millis games, Edward Thatcher and Richard Pixley were two other members of the Senior Class who made up the Millis backfield, Eddie and Dick will be missed next year by the team and the school, Gerald Nirenberg, our fine center, and William Keough, our starting left guard, will also be missed next year, These six Seniors were all first stringers and the team of 1955 will be hard pressed to replace them, Other boys who played fine football for Mills were Robert Corcoran, Robert Morrison, Martin Veiner, Francis Judge, Gary Casey, Allen Bentley, and Thomas Keough, John Diggins and Donald Dmytryck were chosen co-captains of 1955 and they are looking for- ward to an even better season in the coming year,
