Color Us . The phases of MCHS’ social existence are innumerable. From dancing to talking, to simply holding hands down the courtyard, socializing is one major factor of MCHS’ success. Placing value on certain events is not as relevant as partaking in those same events. Without participation where would MCHS’ social life be? From those who work behind the scenes to those who receive all the credit, even those who do nothing at all but voice the . . Sociable opinion, all are participating. One can be sociable by participating in any of the activities offered at Millington such as Homecoming, Cupid’s Ball, theatre, assemblies, sports, and lunch in the cafeteria. Lunch is the lime we dedicate to ourselves and our friends. During this time, we relax and find out about the day’s activities and the day’s tests. All of these activities and these places are the palettes that color us sociable. opening 11

r Color Us . . . Active Student activities thrive in both the school and community. These activities allow our students to involve themselves in more than just their school work. To be active, students may join clubs that fit their interests, apply for jobs that give them valuable experience, or participate in extracurricular activities that they enjoy. MCHS has a wide variety of sports, clubs, and fund raisers in which all students may participate. At MCHS, one does not have to be a member of the team to be active in sports. There are fourteen athletic teams, and our sporting events give active students the chance to support the teams by going to the games and rooting our teams to victory. One homeroom period each week is used for club meetings. During this time, students may choose from twenty-eight clubs to attend to develop their interests or talents. Whether it be Spanish Club. Vica Vam, Tapps, or the Science Club, MCHS students become involved in the many club programs offered at school. Fund raisers are the attempts by each class to raise money for its prom. Clubs also use fund raisers to add money to their treasuries. For example, the Pep Club sponsors the Homecoming Dance. The junior class sponsors the Sadie Hawkins Dance, which is a success every spring. Other activities include selling license plates for TOEC, having car washes for NHS, and selling baked goods by the Deca and Beta Clubs. These and many other activities help to color MCHS students active. opening 13
