Throughout its program, it encourages creative ability, critical judgement, and a persistent quest for truth. It recognizes the importance of being able to communicate effectively, to respond aesthetically, and to assess one ' s position in society and the universe. The School of Music also endeavors to contribute to the cultural climate and the aesthetic experience of the campus and surrounding communities.
