All aboard! Co-Chairmen Carolyn and Lynn Many Millikins was the theme of Fresh- man Camp in 1961 which was held at Allerton Park on September 9 and 10. This annual event, sponsored by the Religious Life Com- mittee, gives all freshmen an opportunity to meet Millikin through their classmates, upper- classmen, and faculty members. The camp schedule included worship, discussion and recreation. At the conclusion of the camp, it was difficult to tell who had the most fun — the freshmen; the counselors; or the co-chair- men, Carolyn Rankin and Lynn Coverstone. « 18

Rush Week Every year rush week is hectic, tiring, excit- ing, and fun. The 1961 rush week was no ex- ception. Many opportunities were provided for the rushees to meet the actives at evening openhouses, invitationals, and preferentials. Themes added continuity to each organiza- tion ' s rush parties — rushes traveled from Ger- many to Scotland and from dreamland to fairy- land. Songs, refreshments, skits, and conversa- tion made two hours seem like two minutes. The results of the 1961 rush week were suc- cessful, for many friends were made that will last a lifetime and many memories were cre- ated that will last just as long. « 20 »
