And we must not omit those spunky freshmen girls, Dorothy Jackman, Tille Stowell, Bette Raffington, who so enthusiastically led our cheering sections and helped to revive our drooping school spirit. Assisting with publications were Ethelyn Freed, Jessie Hurley, and Zola Roberts who kept us posted on school activities while acting as reporters ' for the Decaturian. U., Betty Lou Casey, Betty Fischer, Emily Grove, Virginia Guernsey, Constance Kennedy, Jean Simcox, Ruth Mannering, Betty Jane Ward, and Tille Jane Stowell all starred on the A soccer team. Among the exciting events of homecoming are found the names of many freshies who aided in the success of the gala weekend. Helen Louise Lock represented all the beautiful co-eds of the class in the homecoming queen ' s court at the dance. She was elected by the popular vote of the student body. CLASS OF 1942 14
