Adam B. Crouch The life of Adam B. Crouch, prominent business man of Johnson City, Tennessee, was characterized by three great loves — for his family, for the church and for Milligan College. Each in its place merited his deep concern and genuine affection, and to each he gave his guidance, counsel, and loyal service. For more than twenty years he served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the College, courageously facing the difficult days of the depres- sion, steadfastly holding to the cherished dreams of the Christian college so undergirded and so prepared for the future that a constant flow of Christian leadership would be assured. As a fitting tribute to the faithful leadership which he gave to Milligan College, his family and friends have joined together in the establishing of the Adam B. Crouch Memorial Fund, the income of which will be used in training young men in the ministry of the Churches of Christ. May the spirit of his life continue through that leadership which shall here be trained.

Message from the President I welcome this opportunity to bring greetings from the Administration to the friends of Milligan College through pages of the Buffalo. The producing of a college annual requires an enormous amount of energy and time and talent. The members of the Buffalo staff have worked untiringly to bring to you a cross sec- tion of college life in 1946-47. This book is filled with pictures and accounts of the various activities of this college year whieh will bring back many precious memories to the students and faculty of Milligan College. Above all, we want you to see a program of Christian Education at work on this campus, for it is, indeed, The Hope of the World. Some students have come to the college to be prepared for full-time Christian service as ministers, mis- sionaries, pastor ' s helpers or young people ' s workers. Others have come to be prepared as doctors, teachers, businessmen, coaches, lawyers and in the field of music and fine arts. All have the sacred privilege of being trained in an atmosphere that is distinctly Christian and taught by men and women who are followers of the Lord Jesus Christ. Character Building, First of All is the real goal of the total educational process of Milligan College. To that end, pray that we may be guided to accom- plish His will in this field of Christian Education. Sin cerely,
