Very swiftly those - Junior high school days passed. Then with eighth grade 1' examinations a mere memory, we began our real high school I , Proudly did we elect A officers and pay class dues. We eager y looked forward , studies with eighteen members. if the upper classmen even though we were 'Green Frgsha. Can you imagine our surprise and antisipation when it was - ' announced t at the entire school would spend the after , noon inspecting the Eclipse exhibit at E mira Heights! No classes. N Study ha ls! But then came the solemn warning-'Observe Carefully. You may have to report on the Q .cn to freshman initiation for then we would be reco ni ed by' 3:3 1:1-ip . ' H, When we became proud Sophomores we found we had lost 125. Q' several of our classmates, even one of our officers In W p ' 5 the fall of 1944 Gordon Martin, our president, Charles ' iii 1 . ae e Miller, Daryl Thorpe 8 Stanley Hanson were missing. Yet we were favored by having Jessie Sissen for a few months. suDuring that year we began to think seriously about If building a fund for our post-graduation trip. Some of us ' bf , nearl forgot that our primary aim was an education, but QI 5 .aprt the glaring red F's served as a reminder. Serving hot f O is 3 lunches once a week and sponsoring a dance or two gave us 'ragga I+' V6 tt Q lots of fun and a good financial start. Q The next year we showed the school that we were Jrs. Q by proudly displaying our new class rings. At times we If - fel as though they were only brilliant possessions. New ' Qwwe knew that we must really study if we were to maintain 'N e a satisfactory reputation among our Senior classmates. 'W' 3 pu why must we be compelled to match our knowledge with theirs Lp, 6 ' Perhaps it was an inspiration for at least we all made the 3 grade. During that year we lost a few classmates Bernard raper, Paul tarkweather and Rexford Card. Charles l Miller had rejoined us but not for long. Junior days were Af gf not without entertainment, Christmas pageants, Chapel ' programs and many basketball games. There were two 'f outstanding events during that year. First our Junior a ' play gave us plenty of work, plenty of fun and plenty of Q' 5 ' money. Just think! One hundred seventy-five dollars 4 Q SWS ee,.e, net gain!
