L Hikmesuerfkr Hrcallin the past year. 10 President of the College ll may lie said without fear of contradiction that at no time in the history of the human race has the creative thought and the dedicated service of truly educated men and women been of greater import than in this present day. Breath-taking discoveries in the realm of science und technology which open new and startling vistas to man's gaze call for an accompaniment of wisdom and vision in the arts and the humanities in order that benign mastery of the product of this new knowledge may hi- achieved and pur poseful direction given to man's progress. To attain these ends and to provide reasonable assurance of translating new knowledge into a maximum of well-being for all. the teacher stands in a place of critical importance. To the degree that the teacher senses the significance of his role in the human drama, to that same degree will the future for us and for men everywhere he characterized by goodness and justice, wisdom and | eace. You who graduate from Millersvillc have your part to play in this task. It calls for keen minds, stout hearts, and firm dedication. We. who know you. believe that you are equal to the demands of the hour.
