The juniors had been busy all week decorating and it was surprising to see that they were all in such high spirits. The banquet for the juniors, seniors and faculty was held at the Lutheran Church at 6:30 PM. Reverend Binlcley gave the invocation and Betty Fisher, junior class president, welcomed everyone and presented Miss McCabe a gift for her assistance in decorating. Charles McBride, senior class president, gave the response and Mr. Swaykus acted as toastmaster. At 9:00 P.M. members of both classes and their guests danced to the music of Harry Woodfield and his Orchestra. As the guests arrived they walked under a rose arbor and found they were on the front lawn of a southern plan- tation. Sophomore boys, dressed as slaves, were waiters. The dance was a huge success. lacque Blum entertained with a movie and breakfast following the prom. - 5.4.- Sqn ll .ll ' Y , -an .. tuntrti 'lg gf 1 Illini ' lm: vmior 6701.54 pfay On November 20 and 21 the Iunior Class pre- sented George Washington Slept Here , a hilarious three-act comedy. It takes place in an old farmhouse in the hills of Pennsylvania. Newton Fuller, an enthusiastic city slicker and nature lover, decides he wants a place in the country so he buys it almost sight unseen! Annabelle Fuller, his spouse who hates the country, is ready to go back to the city when she sees this broken-down farm with no water! To add to all this confusion, their daughter, Madge, supposes herself to be in love with a summer theatre actor and tries to run away with him. They have quite a trying time getting accus- tomed to their new home, let alone their troubles with relatives, hired help, summer theatre actors and nosey neighbors. As the play continues, the Fullers begin to like this place which they call their home, only to find that they can't meet the last payments on their house and that their supposedly rich Uncle Stanley hasn't a cent after all. Mr. Prescott, their greedy neighbor who is planning on taking over the Fuller's residence, is easily fooled by Uncle Stanley's superb act as a rich uncle and the place is saved after all. Once again, things in the Fuller household resume their normal pace. H eorge mAAingf0n Sip! .Mere H Directed by Eugene A. Veverka Newton Fuller ..... ...... I an Menuez Annabelle Fuller .... .... This is the true, heartwarming family comedy, centered around Mr. Gil- breth, the famous efficiency expert with twelve children, who declared, What works in the factory will work in the home! Although it took a lot of hard work, the play, our final class project at M.H.S., gave us a grand feeling of satisfaction. CAZCZPGI' M jie 302811 Directed by Eugene A.
