.T llass Ilwlory of 1901 In the month of September 1947 a group of forty s1x puprls reglstered as freshmen at Mlllersburg H1gh School Under the superv1s1on and d1rec t1on of our class advlsor Mr Cr1ssey we elected the followmg class off1cers Pres1dent Johnny M1ller V1ce Pres1dent Nancy Uhl and Secretary Treasurer Aretta Calame At the homecommg game Nancy Uhl represented the Freshman Class as one of the Queen s attendants The only class aCt1V1ty durlng the year was the annual freshman party wh1ch was held at the Leglon Park At the beg1nn1ng of our sophomore year we found we had lost seven classmates Nancy Bretz Dorothy Fry V1ola Fortune Vesta Fortune Alvm Moyer Howard Clark and R1chard Fmley and had garned only one Joan Mast Mrs Roberts was our class adv1sor We had class elcct1ons and the result was Presldent J1m Steele V1ce Presxdent Barbara Hunter and Secretary Treasurer Beverly Hed1ngton In order to ra1se money for 'rne class treasury we sold basketball schedule penclls Gur Sophomore Class was represented at the homecommg game by Bonn1e Uhl The class party was held at the Leglon Park In the early evenmg we had a wemer roast and later we danced and played games Tl11S was the end of the sophomore year and we eagerly awalted our Jumor year At the begmnrng of our Jumor year we were greeted by an attractlve new teacher Mlss Sh1rley McCabe Joan Mast was elected presldent of our class for th1s all lmportant year The other offxcers were VICE Pres1dent Sr Prom we had the concesslon stands at the football and basketball games Joan Mast and Beverlv Hedlngton were our attendants for the homecommg The next lmportant event on our agenda was the Junlor class play The Haunted Hlgh School whlch was presented on November 18 Thlngs were relatlvely qulet untxl Apr1l when we started preparmg for the Jr Sr Prom to be held on May 9 The theme was Let s Take An Old Fashloned Walk The banquet held at the Lutheran Church carrled out the theme After wards we danced to the mus1c of B111 Yates Thus ended a busy happy Junlor year At last we were sen1ors For th1s f1nal year our offlcers were Presldent B1ll Shonk V1ce Presldent Barbara Hunter Secretary Cla1r WGISS and Treasurer Robert Patterson Our class adv1sor was Mr Regula The class sponsored the homecommg dance w1th mus1c by B1a1ne Shnely Aretta Calame re1gned as queen and her senlor attendants were Charlotte Morrlson and Nancy Uhl The remamder of the year was spent 1n the preparat1on of the 1951 ed1t1on of the Sparton1an Wlth Robert Patterson as edrtor 1n chlef The senlor play Our Hearts Were Young and Gay was presented on Apr1l 26 and 27 under the d1rect1on of Mr Warren Thomas At last we arr1ved at the goal we had strlvcn for throughout our twelve years of school Baccalaureate Serv1ce and Commencement EXGTCISQS We looked forward to a future full of promlses and to the poss1b1l1ty of great ach1evements L 1 , 0 uf .'
