Lighted Christmas trees and snow decorated the bleachers and Santa's sleigh and rein- Q deer running toward a large tree on the stage. Candy canes j were placed under the tree and were passed out as favors 4 later in the evening. 3 Invitations were sent to the following schools: Deep A River, North English, Williamsburg, Webster, and Conroy. 3 On account of other school activities and not having a t 54 way to come, there weren't any of these towns present ex- f cept for a few from Williamsburg. S The HMelodiersH from Keota furnished very good dance 1 music for an enjoyable evening of dancing. Cards and check- 2 ers were enjoyed by those who did not dance. 5 9 ? v Two Box Socials 1 91 3 An evening of old fashioned entertainment was enjoyed M A when the Seniors sponsored a box social to raise money for f the Christmas Dance The Senior Class rendered their own 1 arrangement of WJust Because' and there were several other groups who furnished entertainment After this the boxes were autioned off, the proceeds of which gave us a net amount of 325 Everyone agreed that it was a success Later in the school year the Seniors sponsored another box social for the purpose of raising money to go to Chicago on their class trio The program was enjoyed by everyone Pat Brennar and Earle Hall sang ' Love Somebodyn, the Sopho mores put or a one act play 'The Little Red Schoolhouseh the Girls Sextette sang The Bells of St Marysn, and an old fashioned spell down occurred among the audience The approximate amount taken in was 518 Christmas Program The M llersburg Music Depar+ment presented a Christmas program on the night of December 19 in the school gym The band and glee club were combined to present the musical numbers The opere a, 'Christmas of the Shepherdsn, in eluded the glee clus and soloists The traditioral carols and other Chrl tmas songs were presented The stage was set with Llue lights, which revealed the Wiseman, Mary, Joseph, and the Christ child Also included in the cast were a group of carollers Norman Jordan, Don Smfth, Earle Hall, Bob Roggentine, Audrey Sauter, and Gertru Schultz we1e soloists with the g cup Following the program, the b nd played a medley of Catherine Bender feats ed as oloists The followlng numbers were presented 'They Sang That I I . 41 I 7 v tj U 4 ' .n ' Q 1 , 4' ,.
