MILLERETTE Millersburg High School Fairfield School Corporation ■ s ♦ Foreword As we look back on 1963-64, we see a school year filled with many memorable events. Our ears can still hear the corridors echo- ing with chatter about the physics test, the senior play, or Saturday ' s date. This was a year of books and projects, teachers and friends, study and play. It is this spirit of activity that the Millerette Staff has attempted to preserve on the pages of this book. If, in the future, you can glance at these pages and relive these memorable events, our yearbook i will have accomplished its purpose. TheMillerette was ours for nearly a year. Now all yours. N. The 1 Dedication We the Miller ette Staff dedicate the 1964 MILLERETTE to Mr. Ward, our supervisingpnncipal, with deep gratitude and appreciation for his untiring efforts in behalf of our education and the personal welfare to each member of the student body. To us he IS more than a cheery voice behind a microphone. He is the silent voice behind all our efforts; our class work and our activities. For this through all of his seven years of service, we thank him. EL ' Administration Dear Students: Education is the key to living a satisfying, fulfilling life. With educa- tion you will be able to unlock the door to a better world. The human capital that you need to invest in this happy endeavor is the following 5 I ' s: Inquiry - Information - Integrity - Industriousness - and Inspiration. If you have all of these you can do much for society. Your principal and teachers have committed and dedicated themselves to teaching so that each of you may develop this key. Seek their guidance, counsel and direction in your progress toward maturity. Yours very truly. ££ y cd Mi t uiM. Lloyd W. Harrell Superintendent Dear Students: More knowledge has been discovered during the lifetime of the present adult population than existed at the time of its birth. This knowledge, rather than slowing down, is still accelerating, proving that education at the present time is more important than ever. Only the finest education will enable man to cope with his prob- lems and to take his place in our society. 7 Sincerely yours, Marvin P. ' Class History As we started our exciting four years of high school there were 47 students in our Freshman Class. Our class officers were: Wanda Kauffman, President; Milton Bontrager, Vice President; Linda Reed, Secretary; and Diane VVysong, Treasurer. Our Student Council Representatives were Vicki Hartsough and Steve Hire. The class chose as their motto The Door to Knowledge is Labeled Push . They chose the red rose as their flower and our class sweaters were navy-blue with white lettering. Then as we grew older and the years shorter we entered our Sophomore year. There were 34 stu- dents in our class. Our class officers were: Tom Stiver, President; Wanda Kauffman, Vice President; Cindy Brady, Secretary; and Diane VVysong, Treasurer. Student Council Representatives were Marvin Troyer and Grace Larimer. Oilr first money making project was a card sale. We had a profit of $497.90. In our Junior year there were 31 students in our class. Our class chose as our class officers: Tom Stiver, President; Bob Fisher, Vice President; Linda Reed, Secretary; and Diane Wysong, Treasurer. Student Council representatives were Eleanor Smith and Marvin Troyer. Our magazine sales brought us a profit of $573. 87. During our Junior year we presented our first play, The Little Dog Laughed . Every- one was quite excited about the play. We made a profit of $203.47. Starting our Senior year, there were 25 students. We presented the play Hillbilly Weddin , which made a profit of $301. 68. We ako sold candy which brought a profit of $386. 00. The past four years have given us many wonderful memories. During this time we have grown closer to each other, making our class like a family. But the time has now come when each must go out into this world, which we have been preparing for. Though we might not see each other as often, we can never forget those wonderful experiences during the last four years at MHS.
