class History We opened our freshmen year with thirty-five students. Class officers were: President, Wendell Bailey; Vice-president, Terry Zollinger; Secretary, Gretchen Honderich; Treasurer. Nancy Prough; Student Council, Janice Yoder and Charles Rink. We chose our class flower, white carnation; class colors, mint green and black. We were quite proud of our class sweaters which were mint green, with black letters trimmed in white. The success of our first money-making project, the cake sale, made us even prouder with a prof- ' it of $128. ' Our first class party was a Halloween Party at Karen Dukes home and our second was an ice skating party at Terry Zollinger ' s home. : We lost quite a few students our sophomore year as we started out with only twenty -one students. i The following students were elected to serve our class: President, Alta Fisher; Vice-President, Terry Zollinger; Secretary-Treasurer, Nancy Prough; Student Council, Janice Yoder and Wendell Bailey. ! We sold cards this year, making a profit of $540.40. Our class party for the first semester was on November 7, 1959, for a swimming party at the YMCA at Elkhart. The second class party was a bowling party at the Shamrock Bowling Lanes. We were off to a roaring start for our junior year with our class officers: President, Sharon Nisley; Vice-President, Dianne McClain; Secretary, Janice Yoder; Treasurer, Nancy Prough; Student Council, Wendell Bailey and Sharon Nisley. i We sold Magazines making a profit of $564. Our class Party for the first semester was a scavenger hunt at Dianne McClain ' s home. Our second class party was a bowling party at the Pladium Bowling Lanes. We met after the party for supper at the Olympic. We presented our first class play this year, Here Comes Charlie . We had a profit of $269.22. We then planned the hi -lite of our junior year, The Junior and Senior Prom . We used Oriental as the theme. We ate supper at Millers Country Restaurant, planned an interesting program at the Masonic Temple, then we danced to the music of the Four Downbeats from Michigan. Now we are in our final year. We elected class officers for the last time: President, Janice Yoder; Vice-President, Wendell Bailey; Secretary, Linda Hartsough; Treasurer, Nancy Prough; Student Council, Sharon Nisley and Bob Bowley. We presented the play Let Me Out Of Here with a profit of $200. I l! We are looking forward to the prom to be given to us by the juniors, especially our Senior Trip, and of course our commencement. We only have 18 in our class now. We ' re small but we ' re all great pals and we will always remem- ber our good times at M.H.S. Class Secretary,
