IA Q 9 2' 1 Seniwa flag, Jwulw -Wav 4,960 We started our Freshman year with thirty-six members and elected the following officers: Presi- dent, Peggy Suter: Vice-P resident, Janet Moser: Secretary,JudyKeim: Treasurer, Susan Larimer: Student Council Representatives, Jane Hire and Theldon Kurtz. Mr. Orville Howard was our class sponsor. We chose as our class motto Live Wires Never Get Stepped On g our class flower is the yellow rose and our class colors are white, black, and yellow. Our Sophomore year started with twenty-nine members and our officers were: President, Raymond Cripeg Vice-President, Judy Keimg Secretary, Peggy Suter: Treasurer, Susan Larimer: Reporter, Fred Miller: Student Council Representatives, Patsy Cripe and Theldon Kurtz. Our class sponsor was Mrs. Mary Crowe. To raise our treasury we sold Christmas cards, and paid class dues. The officers of our Junior year were: President, Fred Miller: Vice-President, Esther Yoder: Sec- retary, PCQQY Slifer: T1'CaSLUSr. Susan Larimer: Student Council Representatives, Judy Keim and Esther Yoder. The first week of school we received our class rings which we are proud to own. Our projects for the year to raise money were: selling magazines, selling ice cream at noons, selling concessions at ball- games, sponsoring a skating party, and class dues. We auctioned off the watch we received from selling magazines. Our class play, Papa Says No, given on March 28, 1958, was very successful, and we ended the year with the Junior-Senior Reception. Our theme was orienta1. We started our last and finalyear with the following officers: President, Fred Miller: Vice-P resident, Judy Keim: Secretary, Peggy Suterg Treasurer, Esther Yoder: Reporter, Rosa Mae Hiteg Student Council Representatives, Theldon Kurtz and Raymond Cripe. Serving as President of the Student Council was Judy Keim and Vice-P resident was Don Slabaugh. OnOctober 21, 1958, we gave our play, It's Never Too Late, which was very successful. We had two suppers and also sold Christmas candy. The Juniors gave us a very nice reception in the spring. We left for New York and Washington, D.C. on May 2. 9 As we finish our four years of high school, we will not forget the people who helped to make these four years successful. We are now stepping out into the future to assume new responsibilities, and make new friends, but we shall always cherish our happy memories of dear old M. H. S. W7 Su'f'2-I' A, After completing ten years as the Advertising Manager for United Films in Phoenix, Arizona, I decided to take a two weeks vacation. I stopped in Hollywood at Madame Patsy's Beauty Salon for a complete workover, and I discovered that the proprietor was Patsy Cripe, a former classmate of mine. She told me that she does all the beautician work for the Hollywood starlets. I left Patsy and went windowshopping. Above a large building in big red letters was Raymond C ripe, Veterinarian. I went up to see him, and during our conversation he told me that Bob Hart is teaching the Charles Atlas Muscle Building Course in the gymnasium down the street, and Rosa Hite has a job writing witty lyrics for Jack Benny. Also, I found out Judy Keim had just completed a successful screen test for the lead role in It's Never Too Early. He said Fred Miller is doing very well for himself as the star basketball player for the Globetrotters, and Skip Kurtz has been doing a marvelous job as the head coach at Crispus Attucks. Raymond also told me that Esther Yoder is the Chief cook in the Women's Army Corps . . , and that Peg Suter is competing against Betty Crocker for the Miss Homemaker title. After a pleasant chat with Raymond, Istoppedin at Macy's Department Store and saw to my surprise that .Tane Hire was working there as a model. She was very pleased to see me and told me that she had just received a letter from Sharon Eash, who was now doing missionary work in South Africa with her husband, Sam Yoder. She also said that Ralph Haney had married the daughter of the President of the Box Factory, and he was now the Vice-President, but they had trouble with him because he was always falling asleep. She mentioned that Twyla Kauffman is a warden at the Women's Prison on the Island of Pocomoco, and Janet Moser is working in the Memorial Hospital as head nurse on the band-aid detail, also, Susan Larimer is a famous psychiatrist in New York, Mary Bowser had married Merle Yoder, and is the soloist in church choir in Millersburg. Marilyn Sark is owner of a large Milk Truck Business, and Marilyn Whirledge is a world - famous horse trainer in Kentucky. She mentioned, too, that Arlene Yoder is the President of the Pep Club in Goshen College, and Alice Long is the Dramatics teacher at Manchester College. After leaving Jane, I bumped into the Chief of Police, who was Gerald Berkey. He was very glad to see me, and told me that John Petgen owned the Felix Oil Company in Texas and that Donald Slabaugh was working for the government as the Secretary of Agriculture. I am very glad to learn that my classmates have been successful in their careers, but my vacation is drawing to a close and I have to rush back to Phoenix. I am looking forward to the class reunion in 1979. Sandi Larimer Claw will Gerald Berkey, wills his art ability to anyone who can use it. MILLERSBURG 59 CROMWELL 58 Millersburg again playing in the Wolf Lake gym, won another upset victory over a tall Cromwell team in a close contest. MILLERSBURG 61 NEW PARIS 66 Millersburg suffered its fifth loss of the season at the hands of hot field goal shooting New Paris team.
