I learned that durmg my stay at the North Pole Mane had won many honors as the swlmmlng lnstructor at the Mxllersburg pubhc pool Someone announced that the 5 000 m11e sports car race was about to start so I hurr1ed to the track In t1me to see Merle Yoder chmb 1nto a beautlful sports car whlch he had buxlt I expected to see Merle wtn and that he dldl He set a new record of 628 m p h and won the race by 51 laps After the race I talked wlth Merle who was a local boy and found out that Mr Robert Owen was presldent of the Beef and Swlne Organtzatlon. Also that Nancy Vlfgll was a teacher at Mlllersburg consohdated grade school, Merle also told me that Wllbur Ftsher was stxll a star basketball player for the Fort Wayne Zollner Pxstons and had scored 1 128 pomts already th1s year an average of 48 p01lllS per game Just then a jet plane went over and the exhaust tra1l spelled out Garry Gardner s name so I knew where Garry had planted has career Before I left town I stopped to see a Tarzan movne I was surpnsed and pleased to see that the star was none other than the great fabulous Don Swlhart After the show I started back on my long tnp to the Arctic I made it safely and told my pal Professor Sharp all about our schoolmates at Mtllersburg Larry Stump Thls page sponsored by SALEM BANK St TRUST CO.
