CLA SS HISTORY In the fall of '48 the class of '52 met with Mr. Davis and elected the following officers: President ------------ ---- C arol Petry Vice President --- ---- Rose Ann Troyer Sec. -Treas. ---- ---- J ohn Thomas Reporter ---- ---- M arilyn Litwiller Sponsor --------------------- M.r. Olinger Carol Petry and Rose Ann Troyer were elected our freshman class representatives to the Student Council. The class of '52 started with 32 members, when this first year ended, the class roll showed 30 members. The class chose green and white as the class colors, the American Beauty Rose as the class flower, and To thine own self be true as the class motto. The class sweaters were ordered in October and received November 17. The Biology classes went to Chicago to visit the Shedd Aquarium, the Museum of Science and Industry, and the Fields Museum on October 16. October 19, the class was initiated into M. H. S. by the sophomores. Everyone enjoyed the party. A box social was held February 14 to raise money for class tourney decorations and for the coming class party. For class tourney Rose Ann Troyer, Marilyn Litwiller, and Richard Kehr were chosen yell leaders. We lost. Then came our one lone class party on March 16. ' In our second year of high school the following officers were elected at the first class meeting: President --------------- ---- C arol Petry Vice President -------- ---- R ose Ann Troyer Sec. -Treas. ---- ---- M arilyn Litwiller Reporter--- -- ---- Laverle Berkey Sponsor --------------------- Mr. Miller Carol Petry and Robert Riegsecker were elected as representatives for the Student Council from the sophomore class. The first class party was a welcome party for the freshmen. lt was held at Beach Boomershine's. The class decided to sell Christmas cards to raise more money. We were divided into two teams with the losers giving the winners a party, which was held at Jim Redman's.
